ACTIVITY DEPARTMENTThe Activity Department is geared toward helping our residents maintain a lifestyle to which they were used to having before entering our facility. We strive to do this by offering activities that will enhance their: - continuing education

- community awareness
- physical well-being
- social well-being
- emotional well-being
The activity department develops activities that are generated towards our residents daily needs and leisure interest. At Peterson we involve our residents in community activities and pet therapy programs. Our resident plans their leisure needs at a planning meeting. The residents enjoy activities such as current events, breakfast club, music groups, cooking groups, social events and outings. Residents at Peterson go into the community and participate in waterfront concerts, shopping, movies, local sporting events and trips for ice cream. Residents also help our Master Gardeners by volunteering time in our Peterson Garden. Peterson residents do enjoy our pet therapy program with our therapy dogs and house bird, Tuco.
